CSA Mission...its great

The mission of CSA is providing the finest in fowl pigments to chicken shit artists around the world through careful craft, revival, and conservation of ancient pigment cultivating techniques in a modern setting.

Pigment being worked with a palette knife.

CSA Pigment the finest one can find.

Our high quality craftsmen know the shade of chicken droppings can vary widely based on diet, are fairly solid in consistency, and with a sort of fluffy white cap on top. The solid is fecal matter - the digested and partially digested food - while the white part is the urates/uric acid, or what would otherwise be urine in another animal (or human). We take the greatest care in harvesting and processing these materials into pigment.

Hens feeding, the source of the colour variation.

CSA Pigment Color Origins the magic is in the meal.

The origins of the variety in color, well known to those who spend time in the henhouse, comes from the diet. A carefully crafted diet generates the rich color we use in our paints.
